Estibaliz Elizondo, Edertek innovation project researcher, will be a speaker at the multisectoral meeting organized by Bizkaia Enpresa Digitala.

Promoting and incorporating EICTs (Electronic, Information and Communication Technologies) into production processes via cooperation between organisations is the main goal of the “Business Networking - Basque Industry 4.0” event organised by Bizkaia Enpresa Digitala, and at which Fagor Ederlan will actively participate.

The conference, framed within the Basque Government’s Strategy for the Digital Transformation of Euskadi 2025, will act as a multisectoral gathering that will focus on the new industrial reality brought about by digital transformation and adapting to requirements arising from the fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0.

The use of new technologies, such as additive manufacturing, cobotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, Big Data and cloud computing, are establishing a new reality within the industrial field. The Basque industrial fabric is faced with the challenge of transforming many of its processes by means of implementing many of these new techniques.

Estibaliz Elizondo, who researches innovation projects linked to Industry 4.0 at Edertek, the Fagor Ederlan group’s technology centre, will participate as a speaker, presenting the company’s experience in matters of digital transformation and Industry 4.0.

At Edertek we work on applying new processes in order to manufacture automotive components by means of developing a pioneering innovation programme focused on Industry 4.0, new technologies, weight reduction and electrification. Along with Estibaliz Elizondo, Jaime Fernández-Casteñeda, Head of Technology Development at ITP Aero; Borja Pçerez Villa, General Manager at ABD Montajes Electrónicos; and Angel Viñas, General Manager at IPF will also be speakers.

The event, organised by Bizkaia Enpresa Digitala, takes place on 25th November at the Iberdrola Tower (Plaza Euskadi, 5 48009 Bilbao).
