Inter-cooperation with the environment is an active, on-going strategy at Fagor Ederlan. It represents a mainstay of our strategy as a cooperative, consequently we develop activities, agreements and policies to respond to society’s real needs. Within all the activities and partnerships that we carry out, we focus on our commitment for social transformation, with the people of Fagor Ederlan being the ones who make this project possible.
We actively work on projects and direct collaborations in 3 axes: environmental sustainability, responsible consumption and social inclusion. As a cooperative within the Fagor group, at Fagor Ederlan we allocate a part of the cooperative’s profits, namely 12%, to the Fagor Group’s COFIP Cooperation Fund (for public interest concerns), which addresses initiatives in 3 areas: educational advancement, social/cooperative advancement and community-based distribution.
Specifically, in 2020 Fagor Ederlan contributed €1.5 million in FAGOR group COFIP grants to Educational advancement, Social/Cooperative advancement and Community-based distribution. These three axes bring together 37 partnerships and initiatives of different types, magnitudes and characteristics.
At Fagor Ederlan we try to focus our help on local/regional entities that work within areas of community support, culture/education and sports clubs and programmes for children/youths. Examples of this include Arrasate Musikal, Goieskola and various sports activities -sports initiatives for boys and girls, youths from Eskoriatza, Bergara, Arrasate and Aretxabaleta-. And at the same time the cooperative continues to collaborate with initiatives related to Social and Cooperative development, such as projects related to social innovation and the Basque language, the Mundukide association as well as other types of co-operation. Members of the cooperative also help the Zaporeak, Iturrigorri, Aspanogi, Aspargi and Retinitis Gipuzkoa associations.
The way to access our aid fund is very simple. Simply send a request by letter or email using the contact details you will find in the Social Transformation section of this website. Once the project and the entity are ascertained, the corresponding team within the cooperative will assess each initiative within its category, analysing the impact that each project has on social and cultural development.
We encourage you to participate.
