EDERTEK obtains UNE 166002: 2014 certification

Edertek, technological centre for Fagor Ederlan and the CHP division of Mondragon Automoción, has been certified under the UNE 166002: 2014 standard, validating that the centre’s R&D management system satisfies the requirements of the said standard.

As a leader in advanced solutions for auto components, innovation is the basis of the Fagor Ederlan group’s activity. Ensuring that the system and process that directs innovation is successful and achieves the best results is a key, distinguishing factor. Consequently, this certification, which focuses on innovation work, represents yet another step towards excellence in innovation management at Edertek.

The centre approached the implementation of this management model in two very distinct stages (Launch and Implementation, corresponding to Phase 1 and 2) beginning at the end of 2017, and the second stage (Consolidation and Certification, corresponding to Phase 3 and 4), duly developed during 2019.

To achieve this, the organisation had to pass two audit phases, carried out last October and November by a team of AENOR auditors who verified that the centre’s R+D+i management system conformed to the corresponding requirements. This has meant restructuring the centre’s internal processes and procedures with a view to achieving an integrated management model geared towards excellence and continuous improvement.
